Purpose

Objectives of Phase 4: a safe go-live, human oversight and structured handover to the production environment.

1. Delivery Objectives

  • Safe Go-live: Controlled transition to production.
  • Human Oversight: Ensuring that users understand the system and can intervene.
  • Human-in-the-Loop Culture: Embed structured human review points at critical stages — from data labelling through model validation to production monitoring. Teams integrate human judgement where AI confidence is low or stakes are high, following the Collaboration Mode assigned to the project.
  • Red Button Culture: Employees are rewarded for reporting errors; psychological safety is central.
  • Expert Oversight: The AI assists, but the human retains final responsibility.

Key result: An operational AI system that is technically integrated, humanly controlled and broadly accepted by users.

2. Entry Criteria (Definition of Ready)

Before this phase starts, the following conditions must be met:

  • The Development phase is completed (Gate 3 (Production-Ready) approved).
  • All automated tests have passed.
  • The infrastructure for Go-live is ready.
  • The implementation team is on standby.
